jazz guitarist and his band
playing on the New York music scene... It’s Tsuyoshi Furutsu!
the early 90s
Tsuyoshi made his way onto the
jazz and pop music circuit in Tokyo. He
came to the US after winning the Mazda Urban Jazz Contest and
performing in the
Parthenon Tama Jazz Festival in Japan.
Performing in New York City since the mid 90s, Tsuyoshi has
been in demand at all kinds of venues. His
quartet has played at the legendary 55 Bar jazz club in Greenwich
Village, as well
as places like The Four Seasons Restaurant and The Museum of Natural
among numerous other events.
A graduate of The New School University, Tsuyoshi also holds
a Masters Degree from The City College in New York.
has studied with jazz greats Ron
Carter, John Pattitucci,
Peter Bernstein and Gene Bertoncini.
