Contribution to Community

Believe in Music Studio has a long-lasting tradition of charitable concerts and efforts. Participating in charitable concerts allows students to use their talents to help people in need, including those affected by natural disasters and other events. Among the concerts we have organized are:

  1. Partnered with Masks for Doctors to organize a 4 part virtual tribute concert featuring over 3 hours of Believe in Music Studio student performances, messaging and support. The virtual preparations, performances and viewings helped boost student morale and engage the Believe in Music Studio community with frontline workers who shared their stories and missions during the time of the coronavirus pandemic and quarantine. Through this partnership, we assisted Masks for Doctors raise over $50,000 towards relief for Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and masks for hospitals and nursing homes.
  2. Benefit concert to support Hurricane Harvey relief efforts – $4,269 raised for music programs affected by the Hurricane
  3. Charitable concert for the victims of the Hurricane Katrina – $2,580 raised through the Holland Opus Foundation for musicians displaced as a result of Hurricane Katrina
  4. Charitable concert for the victims of the Hurricane Sandy – $1,755 raised
  5. Fundraising concert for Japan Tsunami Relief
  6. Charitable concert and goods collection for the Make-a-Wish Foundation
  7. Multiple performances in assisted-living houses, nursing homes and medical and rehabilitation centers in the Tri-State area

Organizing the charity concerts requires community efforts. While our students work hard to prepare for the concerts, Believe in Music Studio reaches out to local- and national-level sponsors, coming up with creative ideas for fundraising and making the events effective and memorable. These charitable efforts have been featured on TV and in numerous publications, further developing the students’ stage presence while engaging with communities around meaningful causes.
